THE LATIN-AMERICAN MEN

“We are the hollow menlapazmarcha050523

We are the stuffed men

Leaning together”

We did not die but they’ve made us this way

“Our dried voices, when

We whisper together

Are quiet and meaningless”

They’ve imposed their will for too long

They had us in the edge far too long

But not anymore

“Stay still”, that’s what they say

For we are becoming alive

For the first time if not once again

We are still shapes without form

But not paralyzed forces anymore

We refuse to cross the river

No more dimes will be taken away from us

Let there be hope for the poor

Let there be people’s will

Not suffocated but standing still

For Thine is the Kingdom

This is the way we stand

Not again as hollow men

But with the greatest weapon

Which is our reaction
